Designed for both interior and exterior doors requiring a robust and intelligent access system, the new SMARTair i-max Escutcheon from ASSA ABLOY is said to provide fast, wire-free installation and works with a range of credentials, including virtual keys.
The wireless escutcheon with inbuilt RFID reader and Bluetooth compatibility is designed to handle high-traffic, frequent-use doors, meeting standard EN 1906 Category of use: Grade 4 for robustness.
The hard-wearing, resistant build quality is said to make the SMARTair escutcheon ideal for a range of busy environments, and is available with an antibacterial coating, for healthcare and other sterile settings.
The new escutcheon is battery powered and works with all standard proximity credential technologies, including MIFARE, DESFire and iCLASS. An optional integrated PINpad provides the opportunity to add another layer of security with multi-factor authentication. In addition, the device works with the SMARTair Mobile App to open doors remotely and the SMARTair Openow mobile app, allowing users to utilise credentials stored on a smartphone.
VIVOTEK has launched its iNSIGHT Series of cameras, with products driven by the Open Security & Safety Alliance (OSSA).
“Our new iNSIGHT Series presents added value and a deeper understanding that goes beyond the surface,” explained David Liu, President of VIVOTEK USA, Inc. “The initiative follows OSSA’s Technology Stack for video security devices that prescribes an open and standardised platform for security and safety solutions.”
Products include an 8MP, 50M IR, IP67-rated fixed dome camera, the FD9392-EHTV-O, and AI-box, the IE9111-O. Available apps via the S&ST App Store include Gun-in-Hands Detection; Face Mask Detector; PPE Inspection; Audience Measurement; Parking Lot Occupancy; Fall Detection; Animal Counter; and more.
Comelit has extended its security offering to deliver a wireless intruder alarm system, designed to operate with its inclusive app technology, allowing residents and businesses to control their intruder alarms system, as well as door entry, CCTV and home automation.
Secur Hub is an intruder alarm system natively connected to the Comelit Cloud, which includes both WiFi and LAN connectivity, operating as a two-way radio link between the control panel and the sensors. It allows up to 16 IP CCTV cameras with HD resolution to connect to the control panel for users to view in live stream mode via the Comelit app, and recording of four cameras on alarm events for visual verification.
Says Francesca Boeris, Comelit UK Managing Director: “We are conscious of simplifying the installation process to enable more installers the chance to offer this smart technology. Secur Hub’s elegant and functional design extends to all devices that communicate with the control panel and allows the system to be installed quickly. With the support of a built-in intuitive wizard it offers instant peace of mind security.”
Designed for quick installation, Secur Hub does not require ports to be opened on the router, even for the App: for both system management and for viewing any connected CCTV cameras. Via the app, users can set or unset the alarm system check the status or each sensor and organise notifications or view the control panel event log.
STANLEY Security has launched STANLEY Interactive, a ‘smart business solution’ enabling customers to manage all their security systems from a single app. Designed specifically for small and medium sized businesses, the system is said to provide a fast, cost-effective means of managing business security – intruder detection, CCTV, lights and more – whether on-site or at home.
Starting from £42.50 per month, customers can choose from one of three packages to get started: Intruder Detection, Video Surveillance (CCTV) or Total Security, which provides both intruder detection and video surveillance with additional smart features. Further devices can be added as required and the vendor supplies, installs and maintains the equipment, with the customer managing the systems through the app.
For an added layer of protection a 24/7 monitoring service is offered through STANLEY’s own professional central station that can dispatch emergency services or alert the business owner.
The system can also provide valuable business insights, including peak activity and customer traffic and the measurement of staff hours, for one or multiple sites.
The 6 new cameras added to the Wisenet X PTZ PLUS range have been developed by Hanwha Techwin to enable users to capture evidence grade images of activity occurring in large open area applications.
The 2MP, 6MP and 4K Wisenet X PTZ PLUS cameras are enhanced by a long list of technically advanced features, according to the vendor, which includes AI based object tracking, precise PTZ control and improved pre-set accuracy. The lightweight cameras are also claimed to be able to capture high quality images of objects up to a distance of 200 metres with the help of adaptive IR technology which adjusts the angle of the camera’s IR LEDs to match the level of zoom.
An AI auto-tracking feature allows control room operators to efficiently monitor the movement of objects while remaining hands-free to control other cameras. Alternatively, operators can take advantage of highly accurate manual control PTZ functionality to zoom in to see close up detail of target objects and track their movement.
Other key features and functions of the Wisenet PTZ PLUS cameras include: Pre-set accuracy, Focus save, extended tilt range, Wisenet7 chipset which incorporates WDR functionality and enhanced cyber security credentials and a camera-mount to make installation easier.
A new line of BlueDiamond mobile-reader readers have been released by LenelS2 and are designed to provide simultaneous support for a range of physical credentials. They can also be upgraded to support BlueDiamond mobile credentials.
Working on an open platform, the new line of readers can be integrated with existing infrastructure and are said to be access control platform agnostic. They include support for the standard output protocols including Supervised F/2F (SF/2F), Wiegand, OSDP™ and OSDP V2. The BlueDiamond platform supports an array of non-proprietary credentials with simultaneous support for a range of card technologies including standard proximity, HID iCLASS, MIFARE and DESFire EV1 and EV2.
The new readers simplify the migration from less secure credential technology, such as traditional proximity cards, to more secure technology using the industry’s open standard, DESFire EV2 using 128-bit AES encryption, believes the company. Upgrading a mobile-ready reader to support BlueDiamond mobile credentials is achieved through the purchase of a license and the recommissioning of a reader to support the software. No hardware changes are required.
