A situational management and real-time analytics system is at the heart of an integrated security approach at the UK’s second-largest airport, London Gatwick.
The Gatwick Airport integrated security project is using Qognify Situator to deliver a fully automated and rapid response solution to emergencies or other situations.
The additional integration of Qognify’s Suspect Search real-time video analytics software means Gatwick Airport is now able to rapidly pinpoint, identify and track a suspect or find a lost person in real-time, faster than ever before.
“The power of the CCTV solution is that it gives Gatwick Airport superior situational awareness and allows us to command, adapt and respond to any security event before, during and after it occurs,” said Robin Lomax, IT project manager of the CCTV refresh project at the airport.
“It enables a quicker speed of response, a more appropriate size of response and it allows us to play back and learn lessons from the incident after the fact.”
The integrated security project aims to standardise security operations and management across the airport, with security teams collaborating to help ensure people’s safety and security, as well as smoothing operations and minimising downtime in what can be an intensely busy environment.
