The Security Institute’s Annual Conference has been adapted to a virtual conference this year. Taking place across the week of 19 October, two presentations will be delivered daily at 10AM and 3PM BST.
The virtual conference space will open at 09:00 BST daily, with delegates free to peruse around the virtual exhibition hall and explore. Speaking on this year’s Annual Virtual Conference, the Security Institute’s Chief Executive Rick Mounfield CSyP FSyI stated:
“Although the circumstances for this year’s Annual Conference may be different, I am excited to present the same high-quality opportunities for professional development as ever with a line-up of industry-leading speakers from across the globe that we will be announcing in the coming weeks.”
Science of Security
This year’s theme centres around the ‘Science of Security’ with a range of expert speakers that represent the diversity across the sector. The Conference’s virtual sessions will highlight and explore some of the benefits science brings to the ability to protect, influence and develop as security professionals.
Speakers will present on topics that will consider the importance of Science in all aspects of security, through:
Engineering
Psychology
Technology
The Human factors
The impacts of connectivity via the Internet of Things (IoT)
Forensic sciences
Impact of space exploration
This broad range of topics presents an opportunity to learn more about future threats and mitigating theories that will enhance your knowledge, believes the Institute. Two formal CPD points will be awarded for every hour of learning undertaken during the conference.
