The SND-3080C camera will be of interest to a wide range of other market sectors including transportation, libraries, museums, car parks, sporting venues and leisure facilities, Samsung said.
The people counting feature makes up part of the dome’s video analytics capability, working by drawing a virtual line or box area in a certain part of the scene. The dome then counts the number of people that cross the line or enter the box and the data can then be transmitted in XML or CSV formats at selected intervals to a predetermined location.
True day/night with IR filter
It has true day/night with a built-in IR cut filter and can capture and transmit images up to 4CIF, or 704 x 576, resolution in real time across a network.
It also has a multi-streaming feature that provides the option of utilising H.264, mpeg-4 or mjpeg compression. With both Ethernet and BNC connections, the SND-3080C can simultaneously stream IP video across a network, as well as analogue video via coaxial cabling.
Users should be able to watch the images remotely through a web browser which provides remote access to the live video stream and data stored on the domes built-in SD memory card slot as well as full access to the OSD menu system.
There is also the option to view images via Samsung’s licence- free NET-I viewer software and a host of third-party management platforms, Samsung said.
Flush mount version
Other features include Power over Ethernet, Wide Dynamic Range, four-point polygonal privacy masking and progressive scan technology. Full duplex bi-directional audio has been fitted to allow communication between the dome’s location and a control room.
The SND-3080C, designed to be surface mounted, also comes in a “flush mount” version, the SND-3080CF. It has identical features and functionality to the SND-3080C.
