Since 2007, turnover has grown from GB pound 2.4 million to GB pound 36 million on the back of 54% organic expansion post-March 2009 and a widening of the portfolio.

Magenta is one of the UK’s fastest-growing security companies, providing tailor-made solutions for a wide variety of clients. Managing director Abbey Petkar is a huge champion of Corporate Social Responsibility issues and the need to address the green agenda. ISO 14001 accreditation was achieved way back in 2001.
MITIE Total Security Management
MITIE Total Security Management is a leading provider of risk-based security solutions. Its security guarding capability is enhanced by an integrated service range including electronic security, response services, risk and resilience consultancy and police support. Contract retention rate in 2009-2010 stood at a mightily impressive 90%.
PCL Whitehall Security Group
The PCL Whitehall Security Group operates mainly within the M25 corridor, specialising in the provision of bespoke security solutions for high profile clients based in the West End and City of London. Concierge services, CCTV operators and close protection details are all part of the mix. Turnover currently approaches GB pound 16 million.
Securitas Security Services
The stated mission of Securitas here in the UK remains: “To be seen as the most successful security company in the UK and Ireland by 2012”. Having won this category in 2010, there has been a successful integration of the Chubb and Reliance businesses and the instigation of Community Awards designed to champion staff achievements.
The Shield Guarding Company
The Shield Guarding Company is a recognised high quality security service provider reputed within the sector for its training and operational standards. Employing just over 2,000 staff, in the last year Shield has taken on new work to the value of over GB pound 8 million. Long term clients include the Barbican and Broadgate Estates.
Ultimate Security Services
Established in 1999, Ultimate Security Services is a privately-owned concern delivering “dynamic and innovative” security solutions via “responsive partnership”. 30% year-on-year organic growth sees the company exiting this financial year with a turnover of GB pound 37 million. Online ‘refresher’ training programmes keep staff up-to-date.
Unipart Security Solutions
Unipart Security Solutions is an NSI Gold-approved security guarding company whose ACS audit score places it in the top quartile of the sector. This is complemented by an NSI Gold ARC which provides the full gamut of Control Room services. In 2009-2010, the business grew by 26% from a turnover of GB pound 4.6 million to reach GB pound 5.7 million.
VSG
In 2010, VSG celebrated its tenth birthday and the continuation of an exemplary reputation in the marketplace. Now part of the Compass Group, in the last 12 months this celebrated security company has grown its business by 28%, taking annual turnover above GB pound 170 million. Over 6,000 staff are now employed at 1,200-plus locations.
