State of Physical Access Trend Report 2024

Axis to showcase new cameras and encoders at IFSEC

Axis will also be holding a series of presentations on its stand, with topics including ‘Total cost of ownership for a video surveillance solution’ and ‘Benefits of H.264 compression’.

Axis’ new products all support H.264 compression technology which the company says can reduce storage and bandwidth requirements by more than 80 percent compared to Motion JPEG and as much as 50 percent compared with MPEG-4 Part 2 standard without compromising image quality.

The two network cameras making their European debut will be the Axis P3301 network dome and the P3301-V featuring vandal-resistant casing. Both utilise Power over Ethernet.

The two video encoders are the Q7401 and the Q7406 which support one and six analogue channels respectively and allow analogue cameras to be integrated in IP systems.

The Q7900 holds up to 14 hot-swappable video encoder blades and can support up to 84 analogue cameras.

Steve Gorski, managing director, Axis Communications (UK) said: “Axis will be a huge presence at this year’s IFSEC with our largest stand to date and a whole range of new generation network video products.

“The introduction of H.264 compression technology opens up a new chapter for network video as we give end-users more flexibility to achieve their surveillance goals with superb image quality, higher resolutions and frame rates at lower bandwidth.”
