A police officer has been suspended from driving after CCTV cameras captured the moment he ploughed into a row of bollards in his patrol car.
The accident happened in Norwich just before 5am on the 29th May outside the Ribs of Beef pub.
The driver has been suspended from driving police vehicles while Norfolk Police investigate how the accident happened. Police would not comment on whether the driver was asleep at the wheel.
Landlady Andrea Cawdron said to BBC News “I’ve been so surprised at the reaction to the clip. I posted it because people in the pub wanted to see what happened.
“We were just glad the street was deserted and it wasn’t later in the day when people would have been around.
“I’m really sympathetic to the poor guy driving. I’m so glad he wasn’t hurt – at least, nothing more than his pride.”
