A woman in Boston, Massachusetts, flipped her electric mobility scooter after driving it up an escalator, last week.
The Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority put the CCTV video on their YouTube channel showing the woman, said to be in her fifties, driving her scooter onto the escalator, holding onto the hand rail and then flipping backwards with her scooter falling onto her.
A man trying to help succeeds initially only in flipping her over one more time before a transport official manages to bring the escalator to a stop.
He also said the video was released “to demonstrate the consequences of ignoring rules pertaining to escalators.”
The MBTA spokesperson also revealed that the nearest lift was only around 15 metres away.
