Hanwha Techwin launches 5MP Wisenet P two-channel multi-directional camera

The latest Wisenet P model effectively performs the job of two video surveillance cameras within a single housing, says its developer, Hanwha Techwin.

Boasting a modular lens design and suite of built-in video analytics, the two channel, multi-directional model (PNM-9000VD) captures 5MP images of adjacent areas courtesy of two separate lenses.

Depending on the field of view required, 3.7, 4.6 or 7mm lens modules are also available.

Sectors/verticals

Like the 2MP multi-directional Wisenet PNM-7000VD launched in 2018, the PNM-9000VD is more cost-effective than installing two separate cameras to cover, for instance, an L-shaped area like a corridor or both sides of a building. This makes it suitable for monitoring large open spaces such as car parks, shopping centres and warehouses.

Features

  • Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) performs at up to 120dB to capture high quality images in scenes containing both bright and dark areas
  • Lens distortion correction and digital image stabilisation
  • Analytics include: Face, fog, virtual line, appear/disappear, loitering and camera tampering detection
  • Hallway view options generate images in 9:16 x 3:4 aspect ratio to work effectively in tall and narrow spaces, while minimising bandwidth and video storage requirements.
  • Two SD/SDHC/SDXC memory slots for each channel for automatic back-up recording should the network be disrupted
  • Vandal-resistant and weatherproof with IK10 and IP66 ratings
  • Two camera channels but only a single IP address needed
  • Single video management software (VMS) licence required for lower total cost of ownership
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) support negates the need to install power supply cabling.
  • Used with WiseStream II, which dynamically controls encoding to balance quality and compression according to movement in the image, H.265 boosts bandwidth efficiency by 99% compared to H.264
