The TK-C2201E and TK-C2201WPE are compact, fixed dome cameras, while the TK-C9200E and TK-C9300E are box-style cameras, all with “outstanding low light performance”, according to JVC..
A statement from JVC said: “The four new models feature new Super LoLux technology, delivering precise colour reproduction under virtually zero light conditions; as low as 0.05 lux in colour mode and 0.006 lux in black-and-white mode.
“The cameras also provide high resolution with 580 TV lines and feature a powerful new 12-bit digital signal processor, which delivers high quality images. A variety of other features allow for precise monitoring, including automatic gain control, automatic electronic shutter, 1.4x/2.0x digital zoom and privacy mask for protecting against intrusive monitoring.”
A new feature – area white balance – can apply automatic white balance to a specific area of the image, which avoids strong colour zones for more accurate colour reproduction. Each camera delivers a 52dB signal-to-noise ratio, while 3D noise reduction helps reduce picture noise in dark environments.
“Digital video surveillance market share continues to increase, but analogue camera installations still represent the majority of installed CCTV systems,” said Lee Elliott, JVC Professional Europe’s CCTV product manager.
“JVC knows how important analogue is to the surveillance industry, so we’ve made significant enhancements to improve performance. Our JVC’s new eco-friendly cameras also use about 40 percent less power than conventional models.”
The TK-C2201E and TK-C2201WPE fixed dome cameras feature a variable focus lens with a patent pending fine focus adjustment that allows systems integrators to get that last little bit of focus adjustment (in addition to normal focus ring and lock screw), Elliot said.
Also appreciated by systems integrators is the RCA jack, which provides an easy way to check the camera angle, operation and focus on location during or after installation. JVC’s video on fine focus adjustment can be seen below.
The TK-C2201E meets the vandal-resistant standard and features an outdoor-ready, IP66 compliant vandal and tamper proof design. It has a rugged die-cast aluminium main unit and its polycarbonate dome cover remains damage-free against shocks of more than 50 joules.
The JVC statement said: “The combination of DIP switch settings and built-in, intuitive menus on the TK-C9200E and TK-C9300E cameras make detailed settings easy to manage. For extended dynamic range, the TK-C9300E adds ExDR Plus, a proprietary JVC technology that clearly displays people and objects in the foreground even when they are in front of an extremely bright background.
“The TK-C9300E is also a true day/night camera; optimal image quality is achieved through a combination of dual shutter and automatic gain control, which also make darker parts of the image more clearly visible.”
