Speaking at a joint event between CBI and Sony at which she performed, chart star Paloma Faith stated that music piracy is a “massive problem”, and that renewed attempts should be made to tackle the issue.
The platinum-selling singer told the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) that acts like Adele, Jessie J, Rita Ora and Ed Sheeran have been “leading the way” among UK artists, but added that illegal downloading is “a massive problem” for the music industry as a whole.
In 2009, Faith released her debut single (entitled Stone Cold Sober) and inaugural album ‘Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?’, which achieved enough sales to turn Platinum.
That opus spawned no less than five singles.
Faith’s follow-up album Fall To Grace was released last month, preceded by the single Picking Up The Pieces (her highest charting single thus far).
