Twenty years of friendship puts sharp focus on CCTV distribution

Ikegami was one of the earliest names which MVD (Multi Video Distributors) signed up on its formation in 1981. When GSL purchased MVD in 1991 Ikegami had the opportunity to diversify into new security areas with greater exposure to a large customer base.
Twenty years on, GSL is Ikegami’s top distributor in Europe, a position it has held for some time.
The company says that the partnership has borne fruit particularly in pre-development assessments of products.
GSL cites the ICD 42E black and white camera with frame transfer CCD which "revolutionised applications for infra red or low light situations ten years ago".
"The effect on competitors’ business was dramatic, causing them to respond in kind as soon as they could with similar cameras."

President of Ikegami (Europe) Akira Harada, said the relationship "is more like a friendship for both companies."

Ikegami’s distributor in France was not a member of the Gardiner Group partners, but that changed this year. Now the company is working in close co-operation with Gardiner Group partners in Belgium, Denmark, Norway, France and the UK.
