Wisenet cameras integrated with Calculus retail video analytics

Selected Wisenet cameras from Hanwha Techwin have been integrated with Facit’s server-based video analytics software, Calculus.

The expanded partnership will provide retailers with the means to identify lost sales opportunities by monitoring real-time reports as well as view comparative hourly and weekly reports on footfall, store hotspots, dwell times and queuing times.

Depending on the field of view, images captured by the Wisenet Heatmap and People Counting cameras can also be used by security staff to detect any suspicious activity within retail operations.

The people counting camera has an audio analysis function which recognises different types of sound, such as gunshots, explosions, screams, and broken glass.

Customer experience

The Calculus software will assist retailers large and small in identifying different ways to improve customers’ experience and minimise lost sales opportunities within stores.

Benefits include the ability to compare the number of people who enter a store with actual sales, customer buying patterns and better management of peaks and troughs at checkouts.

Calculus supports bi-directional people counting and heat mapping with real time and time lapse viewing

The Calculus analytics software is designed for large retail stores and supports bi-directional people counting and heat mapping with real time and time lapse viewing.

A maximum of 64 Wisenet heatmap or people counting cameras can be connected to Calculus using a single core i7 PC. After that, multiples of up to 64 cameras can be added using additional PCs.

Numerous configuration options are then available to suit most requirements. Reports are available in real-time from anywhere on the network.

Facit’s Argus analytics software is designed for smaller store applications. Four variations provide single and two channel aspect views with bi-directional people counter and single and two channel real-time/time-lapse heat mapping.

A combined single channel with bi-directional people counter and a single channel real-time/time-lapse heat mapping option is also available.

“Our aim in pre-loading the Facit applications onto our open platform Wisenet cameras is to save system integrators considerable time and effort in having to research the wide range of video analytics software on the market,” said Tim Biddulph, head of product and solutions for Hanwha Techwin Europe.

The 12 megapixel Wisenet PNF-9010R/FHM 360° heatmap camera has on-board dewarping, for a variety of alternative viewing modes, including single or double panorama and quad views.

The 2 megapixel Wisenet XND-6080/FPC bi-directional people counting camera is part of the Wisenet X camera series. It features advanced wide dynamic range (WDR) and motorised varifocal lowlight lens technologies.
