5 Megapixel 360° Cameras Launched by Samsung Techwin

Product in a nutshell: The SNF-8010 can capture 5 megapixel (2560×2048) images and boasts a digital PTZ feature for panning, tilting and zooming.

The IK10/IP66-rated SNF-8010VM shares the same features but is also vandal-resistant and weather-proof.

Features (of both cameras):

  • PTZ feature means user can zoom in on a given area for a more detailed view, while simultaneously monitoring the entire 360-degree vista
  • On-board dewarping function displays images in a range of configurations, such as single or double panorama, and 360-degrees
  • Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) guarantees clear, sharp images even in be strongly contrasting lighting conditions
  • Detects motion and evidence of tampering thanks to intelligent video analytics
  • Also features privacy masking, a 12VDC and PoE capability, bi-directional audio and alarm input/outputs
  • Should network be disrupted video is automatically recorded to an on-board SDXC storage to prevent loss of video evidence

Sectors/verticals: Meets growing demand for 360-degree cameras in projects needing 24/7 monitoring – eg, banks, offices, retail premises and warehouses. Whereas numerous regular cameras would normally be required, a single 360-degree camera often suffices to cover a wide area. Gives VMS operator a complete view, while standard statics and pan/tilt can discern detail in doorways and other potential blind spots. This is a particularly attractive feature for banks or retailers, which can track an individual throughout their journey.

The SNF-8010VM also features an M12 connector and is EN50155-certified, making it ideal for use on buses and trains, where it can monitor passenger activity internally or monitor the road externally.

Integration: ONVIF compliant
