GDX by STANLEY Product & Technology launches GDX7 PLE system with two-core cable

GDX by STANLEY Product & Technology has launched GDX7 – a Power Line Ethernet (PLE) system with a standard two-core cable for transmitting communications and power to each system component – in the UK.

GDX7 has been designed to be future-proofed, with new hardware and features in the pipeline to help the system evolve to meet the changing needs of installers and their customers.

A successor to the GDX5, the GDX7 has been approved by Secured by Design – a group of national police projects encouraging manufacturers to prioritise security at the design stage.

The company says GDX7 entrance panels, handsets and apartment station designs are designed in line with the Disability Discrimination Act and Disability and Equality Act (2010).

Sectors/verticals

Aimed at housing associations as well as commercial environments.

Features

  • Single-cable ‘plug and play’ design suitable for all system types – audio only, audio and video, or a mixture of both – and simplifies cable infrastructure with 0.75mm cable for transmitting all required power and communications via proprietary SIP-based protocol
  • The IP65-rated entrance panel includes optional, fully integrated camera with LEDs that streams live footage of visitors back to a video handset or apartment station
  • Backlit LCD single line display for clear visitor feedback
  • Separate vandal-proof reader is available to secure doors that do not require visitor access control
  • Entrance panel is linked to an eight-way line card via an interface board in metal housing constructed of marine grade 316 stainless steel, complete with a 50W power supply unit
  • Entrance panel can be set-up for use by one to eight handsets, apartment stations, or a variety of both. Each handset and apartment station uses the same type of cable, so they can be easily swapped if requirements change
  • Video handset includes features that can be personalised including ability to answer calls, grant access or set a privacy mode for residents who do not wish to be disturbed
  • If one handset fails, other residents are not affected

GDX by STANLEY Product and Technology says

“GDX7 represents the next generation of door entry systems and comes with features that offer the highest levels of security,” said David Hughes, global product manager at GDX by STANLEY Product and Technology. “Ensuring the safety of occupants in multi-tenanted buildings, especially social housing, is under great scrutiny at the moment and solutions such as GDX7 play a vital role in protecting people, property and assets.

“With a full range of pre-sales design, specification, technical and site survey support for all our customers and approved suppliers, we are available to offer help and advice through every step of the process.”
