Cybercrime was the second most reported economic crime by organisations in 2016, up year on year from fourth place.
And even then, most cybercrimes are never actually reported – or even noticed in some instances.
The survey from PricewaterhouseCoopers that revealed this trend also found that 32% of organisations had been a victim of cybercrime, while 34% expected to become a victim in the next two years. Only 37% had any sort of plan in place for responding to such attacks.
