Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

cyber-physical convergence

WATCH: The control room of the future with Micro Focus and Vidsys

Championing the value of unifying physical and cyber security the Converged Security Centre (CSC) recently returned to IFSEC International for its 2019 edition.

Attendees heard from thought leaders in cybersecurity, enterprise security risk management and other disciplines central to the vision of a single security department in which cybersecurity and physical security professionals tackle threats collaboratively. Vidsys and Micro Focus, meanwhile, showcased platforms that can integrate the disciplines on a technological level.

Some organisations have control rooms that focus on physical security and network operations centres for cybersecurity. However, with legislation and frameworks now demanding ‘near real-time risk management’ and reporting of personal data breaches within 72 hours, a truly converged security centre can help organisations – particularly in critical infrastructure – protect digital and physical assets and meet compliance obligations.

A unified approach to mitigating risk gives operators the ability to identify cyber-physical attacks on IoT devices in near real time

A unified approach to managing and mitigating security risk gives operators the ability to identify cyber-physical attacks on IoT systems and devices in near real time.

In the videos below, senior executives from Vidsys and Micro Focus discuss the need for a truly converged approach in a fast-changing threat and regulatory landscape and how their technologies can make converged security possible.

The Converged Security Centre (CSC) is confirmed to return to IFSEC International next year: 8-10 September 2020.

Vidsys

First, Maurice Singleton, president of Vidsys, talks about detecting and isolating threats, so security teams can respond promptly and appropriately.

Vidsys provides a software platform used to run operations centres for public sector agencies and leading enterprise organisations. The Vidsys CSIM continuously fuses and instantly correlates vast amounts of data gathered from any number or virtually any type, brand or generation of physical security system or sensor, as well as from networked management applications.

Micro Focus

Next, David Humphrey, CTO, Micro Focus, talks about video analytics, the value of understanding unstructured data and fusing data from disparate sources.

Driven by customer-centric innovation, Micro Focus software provides the critical tools you need to build, operate, secure, and analyse the enterprise. By design, these tools bridge the gap between existing and emerging technologies – which means you can innovate faster, with less risk, in the race to digital transformation.
