Transcend’s SSD Control Center solution

We find out more about Transcend’s SSD Control Center, and why the company believes cloud services are becoming ever more important to managing IoT devices.

According to a report from Gartner (Goasduff, 2019), the number of endpoint devices connected via the 5G IoT will grow 13-fold between 2020 and 2023, from 3.5 million units in 2020 to topping 48 million units by 2023.

This expansion will engender two challenges: device maintenance on a grand scale, and an increased need to mitigate operational instability. A third issue that will come to the fore is ensuring the optimal prioritisation of information flows between core systems and edge devices.

Cloud services are becoming integral to many industries. This is most beneficial where it eliminates the Herculean task of maintaining devices individually.

Transcend’s solution

The Transcend SSD Control Center, connected to the cloud, is said to provide a safe and easy answer to these issues. Geared to work seamlessly with many apps and systems, the Control Center addresses “all of the challenges of the IoT era”, highlights the company.

SSD Control Center software processes SSD information in real-time, and can be managed through the user’s cloud server of choice. The client can then monitor their Transcend SSD performance via a web browser remotely, wherever they are. Transcend talks through some of its benefits.

Real-time monitoring and cloud-based management
With the Control Center, no physical server is required. Users can remotely check on SSD health and performance, monitoring device life, temperature, and unexpected power outages.

Sleek big-data analysis
The Control Center offers SSD data analysis in graphic form and boasts an intuitive interface and dashboard layout for ease of management. From here, users can conveniently check on SSD and system information, receive notifications, and see remaining SSD storage capacity.

Notices and remote firmware upgrades
The SSD Control Center provides real-time analysis reports, and can also alert users to anomalies via email, SMS, Line, or Slack, allowing for rapid system maintenance and less downtime.

Dynamic cloud-based deployment
The Transcend SSD Control Center is optimised for use with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. The built-in Software Development Kit (SDK) also allows for seamless integration into many client platform environments.
