As part of this upgrade, customers are expected to experience a series of new enhancements including: faster load times, easier navigation, more user guides and content amongst others.
3xLOGIC
Launch of VIGIL CLOUD in Europe
3xLOGIC has announced the extension of its VIGIL CLOUD system across Europe, after originally launching in the US in 2020.
The cloud can be accessed via a desktop or mobile app, where users can view live and playback video from cloud cameras; bookmark cameras for faster access from the main dashboard; check camera heath status; export footage clips; and collect and package related video events together in case files that can be retrieved at a later date – ‘anytime, anywhere, from any device’.
Using VIGIL’s Smart Search capability, users can focus their enquiries on the areas or frames that most interest them. An interface is designed to make it possible to narrow down footage search results by selecting as many or as few blocks of the image as desired within the playback field of view. In addition, the mobile app makes tasks like viewing video and reacting to notifications more ‘simple and efficient’.
The cloud system also offers a case management feature, where users can share critical information and insights and work together on projects – a way to select, store and annotate a single clip or a combination of clips to be shared or archived. Changing permissions or adding and removing users is designed to be straightforward, while regular automatic upgrades to software and compatible hardware ensure the user has the latest features.
Arcules
Forensic Video Search introduced for faster event identification
Forensic search analyses and identifies valuable data from video surveillance devices to provide users with situational awareness and operational intelligence, explains Arcules regarding its latest update.
Forensic Video Search, built into the Arcules cloud-based video service, uses AI technology designed to allow users to search recorded video based on a camera view, date, time, and specific objects of interest, including people and vehicles. The search results appear as video thumbnails ‘within seconds’ and can be further refined by colour or by specifying an area of interest within the camera field of view. When an incident occurs, users can utilise the feature to collect video information faster of the event or objects of interest.
The cloud-based functionality is available on ‘over 6,000 cameras’ supported on the open Arcules platform. Stakeholders are said to be able to use Forensic Video Search ‘immediately’, without the need to upgrade cameras or install GPU cards. Arcules Forensic Video Search is currently being offered to a limited number of customers and will be generally available in January 2023.
Axis Communications
PTZ camera with long-range IR for tough conditions
Axis Communications has launched a ‘robust’ PTZ camera said to be ideal for wide and long-distance surveillance.
The AXIS Q1656-DLE Radar-Video Fusion Camera offers Q-line camera functionality and ‘excellent’ image usability combined with a ‘fully integrated’ radar. Using the radar, it is designed to detect objects over wide areas regardless of visibility. It can then visualise the speed and distance of moving objects directly in the application view.
The camera offers HDTV 1080p resolution and a light-sensitive half inch sensor with 31x optical zoom. Featuring Forensic WDR, Lightfinder, and long-range OptimizedIR, it aims to provide sharp, clear images in ‘any’ light conditions. In addition, it has high-speed pan/tilt performance for coverage of large areas and ‘great detail’ when zooming in. The camera has built-in analytics such as AXIS Motion Guard, AXIS Fence Guard, and AXIS Loitering Guard for detecting motion, intrusion, and loitering. Axis Object Analytics also makes it possible to detect and classify people and vehicles.
Enclosed in a vandal-resistant IK10-rated casing with NEMA 4X, NEMA TS-2, and IP66/IP68 ratings, the camera can withstand winds up to 245 km/h (152 mph), according to the vendor.
Comelit-PAC
Launches IP Access Control
Comelit-PAC is expanding its PAC Access Control Range with the launch of the 511DCi IP One Door Controller.
The new Access Door Controller has been designed with ‘equal capability’ of the 512 DCi 2 door controller, with the additional advantage of supporting one door rather than two, on either a read in/read out or read in/request to exit basis.
Available ‘installation-ready’ in either an Enclosure with 50W PSU, or as a DIN Mount option, it is fully integrated into a PAC eco-system. It is designed to support a wide range of integrations with third-party products and readers and has also been designed to work with alarm, fire safety and building systems.
The door controller is said to support a vast range of reader, card and token formats, including PAC OPS – PAC’s market leading Anti-Cloning Technology. It also has ‘inbuilt intelligence’ for offline working continuity, as well as a long-life and five year warranty according to Comelit-PAC.
The access control comes with PAC’s One Touch Test feature designed to allow single engineer commissioning, and a five second test confirming all cabling between the controller, reader, and lock is correct and working. Key features include its expansion capability via either additional network points or by utilising PAC’s 485 Bus with 512 DC controllers allowing ‘up to 47’ doors from one IP point locally.
Sensors detect temperature for automation
Detectors, sirens, keypads, and many other Ajax devices can measure the temperature inside their enclosures using built-in sensors. Previously, these indicators were used only for display. Now, the LifeQuality device temperature can trigger scenarios.
Temperature scenarios are available for users with OS Malevich 2.14 update. Also, the LifeQuality air quality monitor, which features in-built sensors used in Swiss and Swedish medical devices, can show temperature, humidity level, and CO2 concentration. With the OS Malevich 2.14 update, Relay, WallSwitch, LightSwitch, Socket, Socket Plus, and WaterStop activate when the specified temperature threshold is exceeded or decreased. The temperature of one or more detectors can trigger the scenario.
At one facility, an installer can provide both ‘security and comfort’. Scenarios based on LifeQuality indicators are designed to control the microclimate in ‘any’ room, giving a wide range of devices. The temperature of other Ajax devices can be used for already installed Ajax security systems to automate heating, air conditioning, and others.
The AI called Digital Guard from G4S is designed to analyse a bank’s security footage as well as monitor human behaviour. It aims to screen for pre-defined situations which could indicate someone breaking the law or violating house rules – for example glass being broken or an ATM shutter being tampered with.
The AI then sends any video clips which ‘raise a red flag’ to the G4S Security Operations Centre in real-time to be assessed. An operator can then respond depending on the incident. This could start with a verbal response (audio intervention) before escalating to the deployment of security fog or the dispatching of a G4S patrol and response team.
Although not its main purpose, it can also be used to monitor for internal fraud. For example, the AI can reportedly spot if a cash register has been left open but no customer is present and will flag to the Operations Centre for further investigation.
Trials have been completed at two separate bank branches in Serbia and their ATM safe zones, which ‘demonstrated proof of concept’ and allowed the AI programming to be fine-tuned. As well as at banks, G4S plans to roll out the Digital Guard in other retail settings such as jewellery stores and betting shops, at remote entrances, warehouses and parking lots.
