ADT to sponsor Edinburgh Half Marathon

As title sponsor, the 13-mile race will be branded the ADT Edinburgh Half Marathon and will take place on 10 April 2011.

It attracts between 4,000 and 5,000 runners from across Britain, ranging from professional athletes to those just starting out. Participants will start the race at Meadowbank, where they will run along the Firth of Forth coastline to Musselburgh.

“The Edinburgh Half Marathon is a fantastic race that brings together professional and beginner athletes as well as the local community. ADT is proud to support the race and look forward to enjoying a successful event,” Stuart Douglas, general manager of ADT in Scotland, said.

“We are excited to have ADT on board as title sponsor for this year’s marathon. We have already seen great interest and expect the race to be bigger and better than in previous years.” said Mike James, race director, GB Event Management Ltd.

Now in its sixth year, the Edinburgh Half Marathon has raised millions for local and national charities. Runners are encouraged to raise funds for one of the race’s charities, which include CLIC Sargent, Breast Cancer Care Scotland and St Columbus Hospice, Edinburgh.
