Born in the Peak District of Derbyshire in 1955, Jeff Little was commissioned from Sandhurst into the British Army in 1974, becoming a military logistician focusing on the acquisition of specialist vehicles for the Armed Forces.
He has served in a variety of operational theatres including the First Gulf War, Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Kosovo.
The highpoint in his military career was serving in Hong Kong with the Brigade of Gurkhas.
Little was awarded the OBE in 2001, and completed an MBA with the Open University in 2003.
His interest in security was stimulated by attending a diploma course in Emergency Planning and Disaster Management at Coventry University.
On leaving the Army after 33 years service, Little went to work with a company designing a large, national level CCTV and security system for a major client in the Middle East, later joining the NSI as CEO in December 2010.
Little’s interests include playing Mah Jongg, studying military history, hill walking, collecting fire service models and writing short stories.
He’s the president of two bands and enjoys military music. Little’s a Fellow of the Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management.
