Security consultancy firm Linx International has reached an agreement to acquire a majority shareholding in Tavcom, the dominant name in training for the physical security industry.
Tavcom offers technical and non-technical training – undertaken in the classroom and online – in a wide range of fields like security management, control room operations, system planning and project management, structured cabling, disaster recovery, counter eavesdropping, PAT testing, solar panel installation and covert CCTV.
Linx International Group, which encompasses Linx Consulting, ARC Training International and Perpetuity Training, is a consultancy specialising in security, risk management and investigation services.
Tavcom’s sales director Paul Tennent has been appointed group sales director for Linx International, while Mike Tennent, who founded the Tavcom, has been appointed non-executive chairman.
“Tavcom’s unrivalled expertise in the systems training market, combined with the Linx International Group’s reputation for providing premier security management training, will provide an unparalleled offering to the sector,” says Linx International Group’s CEO David Gill.
“Our plan is for Tavcom to continue top operate under its existing brand within the Linx International group and clients will therefore continue to receive the outstanding levels of service that they have come to expect.
“However, the inclusion of Tavcom within the Group presents a fantastic opportunity to create a global leader in both security management and security systems training.”
Says Mike Tennent: “I am delighted with this transition. The shift from a family business to the new international group set-up is one which will see the company build on its excellent reputation, as well as open new opportunities to our clients to offer outstanding training and consultancy internationally.”
