WD and Milestone Systems Join Forces to Develop Video Surveillance Solutions

Storage solutions provider WD and video management software company Milestone Systems have reached an agreement to jointly develop video surveillance solutions.

Milestone’s Arcus Surveillance software, which is designed to provide customized, market-friendly solutions, is now available with the My Cloud OS 3 operating system on WD’s My Cloud Business Series’s network-attached storage (NAS) systems. The release of Arcus Surveillance software on the My Cloud Expert Series has for the meantime been postponed.

The embedding of Arcus’s video surveillance platform in compatible devices such as WD My Cloud NAS systems helps users turn their My Cloud Business Series NAS systems into networked video recording systems with the help of My Cloud OS 3.

Users can install up to 16 cameras by simply downloading Milestone Arcus Surveillance software through the My Cloud App Store with the first two camera licenses free on My Cloud Business Series products. Users can also purchase additional camera licenses through the WD Store and at selected WD authorised distributors.

“This is one of many applications available on My Cloud NAS systems, including home automation, media streaming and backup solutions.”

The latest operating system, My Cloud OS 3, will be available as an update to My Cloud NAS system users towards the end of this month.

WD’s My Cloud Business Series NAS systems on the other hand can be accessed through select distribution partners, e-tailers and direct market resellers worldwide.
