Video: “Why We Sold Pyronix to Hikvision” – Julie Kenny and Sebastian Herrera

In this video – filmed at IFSEC 2016 – Julie Kenny, former chief executive of Pyronix, explains the thinking behind the company’s acquisition by Hikvision and why the deal is good for customers, Pyronix itself and the wider industry.

Sebastian Herrera, the UK intruder alarm specialist’s current CEO, also discusses the products on show at IFSEC and how the Hikvision deal gives Pyronix the financial muscle to innovate and develop new products. Convergence is the watchword, he says, with Hikvision spotting the opportunity for combining its own video surveillance systems with Pyronix’ intruder alarms.

Read our Q&A with Pyronix: what the acquisition by Hikvision means for customers. Hikvision, meanwhile, reported its highest-ever visitor numbers at IFSEC, where it showcased its  latest 16MP PanoVu Series camera.
