Axis Communications

Fixed bullet camera

Axis Communications has launched the AXIS P1455-LE Network Camera, a bullet camera offering HDTV 1080p resolution at up to 60 fps. Ideal for a wide range of surveillance scenarios, it is said to be particularly suitable for capturing scenes with lots of motion.

Featuring Axis Forensic WDR, the camera also includes Axis Lightfinder 2.0 and OptimizedIR for improved forensic images in low light, motion-adaptive exposure to reduce motion blur, Object Analytics to distinguish between people and vehicles and smart pairing functionality with Axis Network speakers.

Paxton

Net2 Checkpoint Control

Checkpoint Control is the latest update to Paxton’s Net2 system, designed to support COVID-secure sites to protect employees and visitors by monitoring and approving people as they enter buildings. The Checkpoint Control functionality follows on from Paxton’s successful introduction of Net2 Occupancy Management and integration with thermal scanning hardware. Both were released for Net2 in July 2020.

Steve Rowlands, Global Product Manager for Paxton, further explains: “Net2 Checkpoint Control allows a site to assign temporary access levels to one or more users that will remain in place until they have either been manually validated or badged through a specific door. This will allow Net2 system administrators to ensure all staff and visitors pass through a designated checkpoint at a frequency that can be configured to suit the business requirements. It also offers the flexibility to split staff between multiple checkpoints to help maintain social distancing and not overrun an area.”

The Net2 update also includes new functionality to further enhance the Net2 Occupancy Management feature. New virtual traffic lights can be used on screens to indicate occupancy levels with no need for integrated traffic light hardware. This will further support social distancing by informing the end user of whether the current occupancy of the area they are about to enter is safe for them to do so, working alongside Checkpoint Control to reduce bottlenecks and overcrowding.

Vanderbilt

VCredential Cloud platform

Vanderbilt has announced the launch of its VCredential cloud-based credential management platform. Following the introduction of the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) reader family in conjunction with ACT Enterprise last October, Vanderbilt’s increased expansion in this market responds to the continuing trend toward virtualisation and a shift toward touchless door access.

VCredential is a cloud-based credential management platform that offers users the ability to create and manage Bluetooth credentials independent of the access control platform. Its key benefits focus on intuitive usability and the opportunity to benefit from the latest industry technology trends, explains the vendor.

The business believes that Bluetooth solutions will be even more sought after following the pandemic, with smartphone credentials offering time and cost-effective alternatives to managing physical access. The creation and management of credentials can be carried out by the administrator directly in the VCredential management platform.

Panasonic

i-PRO X-Series & deep learning applications

Panasonic has announced its collaboration with the software company A.I.Tech. It brings together i-PRO’s security cameras with built-in AI capabilities and intelligent applications to provide a range of business solutions based on deep learning – many applicable to the current COVID-19 environment.

The deep learning applications run directly on the cameras themselves for faster processing and lower total cost of ownership. A number of the AI applications can be used in the current pandemic to help manage social distancing, occupancy levels and the wearing of face masks. Applications can also be used by retailers to enhance the customer experience; in smart cities for traffic monitoring and smart parking; and by event organisers and transports hubs to monitor and ensure safety.

They are completely integrated with the recently introduced Panasonic i-PRO X-Series camera range with AI engine, which includes six new models in total: The 5MP resolution cameras went on sale in July and the 4K resolution cameras come to market in November. All are available with vandal resistant indoor and outdoor dome or box configurations.
